Irma Christine Robinson, 90

Irma Christine Robinson, age 90, of Hastings, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on July 12, 2017, at Regina Senior Living in Hastings, following an extended illness.

Irma Christine Robinson, the daughter of Anton and Christine (Brenneise) Johnson, was born on July 27, 1926, in Underwood, North Dakota. The daughter of a ND pioneer, Irmas life began on a farm just outside of Underwood, ND.

Irmas first educational years were spent in a one room school house, which provided for many fond memories. Following her high school graduation from Underwood, ND, Irma went on to continue her education at Jamestown College, in Jamestown, ND. Irmas dream was to become a nurse. So...on to Northwestern Hospital School of Nursing in Minneapolis, she went. Irma attained her RN nursing degree.

Irma was united in marriage to Albert Robinson on August 8th, 1948, at Underwood, ND. They were blessed with three children.

The family would find themselves moving in the midwest several times over the course of their lives. Irma truly believed that the Lord had given her, her musical talent, playing the piano. Because of this, she was always involved in the life of the church. She said, "Everywhere we moved, the first question the pastor asked was if I knew anyone who could play the piano, to which I gave a resounding, YES, ME!!!"

While living in North Dakota, Irma and Albert were actively involved at First Baptist Church of Minot. Irmas involvement in First Baptist was: deaconess, church pianist, bible studies, and decorating for the many church activities. She was also a charter member of XYZ, a senior adult ministry to the town of Minot.

Upon relocating to Hastings, MN, in her early 80s she moved into Park Ridge, where she continued serving others. Irma loved to decorate the dining room for every holiday. She was an active resident on several committees. While in Hastings she was an active participant of Calvary Christian Church. Irma enjoyed several years of good memories and great friends in Hastings, MN.

Following a stroke, Irmas last home was Regina Care Center in Hastings, MN. Even at Regina, you could often see, Irmas wheelchair rolling down the hallways asking other residents how they were doing and what she could do to help them.

Throughout her life, Irmas faith in the Lord saw her through the good and the hard times. One only had to look in her Bible, to see the many verses she had underlined with marginal notes to know that she spent time in the Word. Being a prayer warrior, Irma often listed friends and families names and their individual needs. Praying to her was just, "Im talking to Jesus." She modeled a life of faith -

"Well done, good and faithful servant."

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albert and by her sister, Luella Snyder.

Irma is survived by her loving children, Daughter: Lou Ann Sackett of Hollister, CA; her sons and daughters-in-law, Bill (Doris) Robinson of Gardner, KS, Richard (Georgine) Robinson of Hastings, MN; her grandchildren and spouses, Renelle (Kip) Marsh, Chrisan Robinson (Franco Sanguenetti), Randine (Tray) Ailshie, Nathan (Abby) Robinson, Christine (Jared) Sachs, Michelle Robinson; her great-Grandchildren, Liam and Gwenna Marsh; Reid and Weston Robinson; Gerald, Will, Clara, and Louise Sachs; and by several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, July 22, 2017, at Calvary Christian Church, 907 West Fifteenth St., in Hastings, with Reverend Randy Berg officiating. A meal will follow to celebrate Irmas life. Visitation will also be held at church on Saturday from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.

Graveside services will be held 9:00 a.m. Monday, July 24, 2017, at Riverview Cemetery in Washburn, North Dakota. A time of fellowship and refreshments will follow at Dakota Farms Family Restaurant, also in Washburn.

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to all of you who have been so kind and thoughtful during this difficult time. A special thank you to the staff at Regina Senior Living, who made a home for mom during the last years of her life and who have been such a support to us, and to Allina Health Hospice & Palliative Care for their love and support during the mom's final journey.
